I met Claude Derib, then spent a few months at the École de Saint-Luc in Brussels in the comics section. Claude Renard and François Schuiten taught there. After meeting Jean Perrin in Lutry, a graphic designer and creator of animated films for TSR, Yves apprenticed as a graphic designer and illustrator. Two years spent creating motifs for screen printing led him to become self-employed in 1989. Between 2008 and 2015, he worked with the Paint a Smile Foundation, creating frescoes for children in hospitals. Since September 2017, he has been a cartoonist for the Journal de Morges. He is best known in French-speaking Switzerland for his books on ‘regional speech in pictures’.
